Duration: 3–5 Years

Target Groups: Youth, faith leaders, educators, community leaders, NGO leaders, emerging corporate leaders

Executive Summary

CTSL Global proposes a multi-country leadership development initiative aimed at strengthening ethical, resilient, and peace-driven leadership in conflict-affected and post-conflict contexts in Africa. The program will operate in South Sudan, Somalia, Uganda, Kenya, Nigeria, and Tanzania, partnering with religious institutions, schools, colleges, churches, communities, corporate organizations, and local NGOs.

The initiative directly contributes to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 5 (Gender Equality), SDG 8 (Decent Work), SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).

Through leadership academies, mentorship, institutional capacity building, and peace-focused leadership training, the project will equip emerging leaders to drive sustainable development, social cohesion, and post-conflict recovery.

Problem Statement

Fragile and conflict-affected regions in Africa continue to experience:

  • Weak leadership and governance structures
  • High youth unemployment and disengagement
  • Cycles of violence, mistrust, and social fragmentation
  • Limited access to ethical and values-based leadership education
  • Underrepresentation of women and marginalized groups in leadership

While humanitarian responses address immediate needs, long-term peace and development require strong local leadership embedded in trusted institutions such as faith organizations, schools, communities, and civil society.
